5 Steps for a Glowing Complexion on Your Wedding Day
1.Set a Strategy
I suggest you go talk to an Aesthetician or a Dermatologist to help develop a routine. Your skin needs time to adjust to a new routine so don’t procrastinate! If you start using products to help cleanse your skin you may go through a time where your skin gets worse. This is known as ‘purging.’ An ideal time period would be to start about 6 months before your big day-especially if you are trying to control acne. However, if you are eloping as little as two weeks would be needed to make tired dull skin look revived.
2. Stay Hydrated
It may sound basic, but this can be key to help healing your skin. Whether you are acne prone and have oily skin or dry skin using a moisturizer is a necessity. You may be wondering why somebody with oily skin should be using moisturizer? Your pores produce oil based on how much moisture your skin needs. If you start using a non-comedongenic moisturizer then your pores will start to produce less oil, because your skin will be more moisturized creating a need to produce less oil.

3. Exfoliate
If you can’t do the rest, do this. Using a gentle exfoliator will help to slough off that dull dry skin to create a clear and glowing complexion. Your Aesthetician can do a series of microdermabrasion or chemical peels, too! If you don’t want to invest in an exfoliator, just head to your kitchen and use some baking soda! Mix it with water and gently scrub your face 3 times a week.
4. Even Out Your Skin Tone
Whether you have dark spots or redness there are all kinds of products to help create that even skin tone! Ask your Dermatologist or Aesthetician which products they recommend for you!
5. Get Some Sleep
It’s true that you need your beauty sleep! I know planning a wedding can be stressful and time consuming so it can be hard to fit in those 8 hours of sleep, but when you get stressed out it will show up on your face-from breakouts to dark circles. If you want healthy skin you need to give your body a chance to heal itself.
