Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park is probably one of my all-time favorite hikes! It’s an extremely popular hike in the park, but for a good reason. I typically will only do this hike during the off-season when it’s not super busy like in May or October or opt for a sunrise hike to avoid all the crowds. This is a trail that everyone flocks to so it’s best to avoid it during the day and peak season.
October is a great time to visit Glacier because the crowds are typically gone and the fall colors will be all over for you to enjoy! If you want to learn more about a Glacier National Park Elopement be sure to check my full guide where you can get the inside scoop!
For this incredible elopement, we started off the day at the couple’s Airbnb where they spent the morning with their family and getting ready. It was a very easy and quiet morning! Once they were done getting ready they shared a first look outside their cabin where they saw each other for the first time that day.
Then, we all hopped in the cars and head off to their ceremony location inside the park. They had a beautiful ceremony where the groom’s brother said a few words, they had a uniting ceremony with sand, exchanged rings, and said their vows!
When everything was complete with their ceremony the three of us went off for an adventure and hiked to Avalanche Lake! We spent time enjoying the views and exploring the area. They even had a shot of fireball to warm themselves up! When the time came to head back they changed into regular clothes so they could be comfy on the way back. When we got back to the car we made a few stops along the way and then headed back to their Airbnb to wrap everything up!
It was such a fun and easy-going day! They were calm through the whole experience and were able to thoroughly enjoy every aspect of their day which is exactly how it should be!
