This adventure elopement in Ireland was so magical. If you’re thinking about eloping in Ireland you won’t regret it! We started off Claire and Tom’s elopement day in Ireland at their little cottage where they got ready separately and then shared a first look. Claire stitched Tom a poem into a handkerchief as a little surprise for him, too! It was the sweetest thing.
Afterwards, we hopped in the car to adventure off to their incredible ceremony location. The wind was blowing like crazy and it was cold, but the sun was out and we could have been happier! We went in with the mindset that it was going to rain, and they got blessed with the sun instead. During their ceremony it hailed for about two minutes and that’s all the crazy weather we got! How awesome is that?!
Their ceremony was so beautiful, too. They shared their vows, exchanged rings, included the traditional Irish hand-fasting and shared a first kiss.
Afterwards, Claire was laughing because she said, “I was thinking ‘it’s hailing and my makeup isn’t coming off!!” It’s the little things like that that can make your elopement day so better. It’s comes down the the attitude you have. I, of course, always prepare my couples for eloping in the outdoors because the weather can be very unpredictable no matter what season you’re in!
After their ceremony concluded we explored the stunning cliffs and mountain areas where they got to adventure around and enjoy the sights. Once we we wrapped up the adventure we got back in their car and headed down the mountains to a local Irish pub where they shared a dance, chugged beer and popped a champagne bottle! It was a day that I will never forget and I feel so honored that I was able to be a part of such an incredible elopement in Ireland!
Eloping in Ireland
How did the proposal go down?
When playing our nightly game of backgammon, we were each shaking the cup of dice to see who would go first. When I turned over the cup, out came a beautiful diamond ring! Tom took my hand, knelt down with a tear in his eye and the rest was history!
What made you decide to elope?
We wanted to keep the focus of our day on us. We also thought it would be very special to be able to share such an important moment of our lives in Ireland. The idea of getting married somewhere both of us dreamed to go sounded amazing–and it was!!
How was the experience you had on your elopement day while eloping in Ireland?
Everything was perfect and even so much better than we could’ve imagined. Especially with the weather!! We couldn’t have done this without you and you made everything so much more fun, too! We had such a great time hanging out all day with you and taking shots at the pub 🙂 Thank you so much for everything and it’s an experience I’m going to treasure forever.
