For all my elopers out there Colorado is a place to consider for that adventure elopement! There are so many incredible places with a stunning backdrop for your vows. Whether you want to take a hike in the mountains or have a picnic by a lake, if you crave the outdoors then Colorado is for you! Here are my tips on 4 Tips To Plan A Colorado Elopement!
1. To Self-Solemize or Not
One of the best things about having a Colorado Elopement is that you do not need to have an officiant! If you are going on a trek you don’t need to worry about having someone who is will to join the adventure. You also aren’t required to have any witnesses. I have seen it done both ways and it really just depends on what type of ceremony the couple wants!
2. Obtain a Marriage License
This is of course the most important! Whether you want to self-solemize or have someone marry you be sure to obtain a license from your local County Clerks office!
3. Find Your Location
There is adventure everywhere in Colorado and who doesn’t love a good adventure?! I know I do! There are so many options it can be hard to decide. Whether you want a mountain-top location like Keytop Overlook, a mountain lodge location like Piney River Ranch or if you just want to a take a hike through Rocky Mountain National Park the options are endless!
I personally love to location scout if I have the time in advance to seek out an incredible location if my couple decides to go for a hike. If it doesn’t work out for me and the couple lives in the area they love do go out and look as well!
3. Plan Out The Details
Just because you are eloping doesn’t mean you can’t have those personal touches to your day! Adding a bouquet and boutonnière are simple and nice ways to add some color and personality. Take a long a small speak and enjoy a first dance with your new spouse because why not?!
Whether you want to wear that dream dress or get a beautiful dress from Lulus.com is totally up to you! If you feel enjoying some quiet getting ready time you can hire a hair and makeup artist or you can even do it yourself!
4. Relax and Enjoy The Adventure!
I offer a variety of elopement packages so that no matter what your dream elopement looks like I got you covered! On your elopement day you deserve to have everything documented and to enjoy every bit of the adventure so that’s why my goal is to make your day as stress-free as possible so you can relax and enjoy every single moment.
