It’ all depends on how much adventure you want to be included in your elopement, how accessible you want your location to be, and the time of year you’re eloping in Colorado. Whether you’ve been to Colorado before or not, the state is so vast and mountainous that there are plenty of locations that you probably don’t even know about, but that’s what I’m here for! 1. Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the most popular locations throughout all of Colorado. It’s a beautiful national park that has beautiful alpine lakes, mountain pass roads, and loads of hiking! 2. San Juan National Forest
The San Juan Mountains are probably one of the most beautiful areas in Colorado! You truly cannot go wrong with picking out a location to elope in the San Juan Mountains. Most of the locations in this area do require hiking so keep that in mind when deciding on if you want to elope with family or not. However, if you do decide to include guests a fantastic alternative is to have your ceremony at an Airbnb with your guests and then go off for a sunset hike to that epic location!!
Telluride, Colorado
Telluride is a gorgeous area that is known for its winter sports, but it’s just as beautiful during summer!! You’ll be able to hike to your heart’s desire, see crystal blue alpine lakes, take gondola rides and so much more!!
Ouray, Colorado
If you’re down for an adventure then Ouray it is!! The outdoor adventure opportunities here are endless. Go hiking in the massive mountains, take a jeep through the backcountry, or even enjoy the hot springs! I would highly recommend looking into Yankee Boy Basin. Why?! Because it’s one of the most stunning views and these views are accessible with 4×4 vehicles!! Can I get an amen?!
Silverton, Colorado
Silverton is an amazing mountain town with all the things! You can’t say no to these gorgeous mountain peaks! Whether you want to go hiking, jeeping up an OHV trail, rafting, or take a horseback ride I promise you that you won’t be disappointed!
3. Idaho Springs
Idaho Springs is a cute mountain town which restaurants and shops to check out, but most importantly it’s a great home base for Mount Evans!
Mount Evans
Mount Evans is quite the view! It’s a 14er that you can actually drive up to!! How awesome is that?! From the top, you can enjoy 360 degrees of epic views and take one of the hiking trails to explore. If you’re looking for easy access to mountain views then this is for sure the place to be! The mountain road is open typically from late May to the beginning of September.
4. Aspen
Aspen is home to quite the views! During Fall all the aspen trees light up in orange, yellow, and red. You could take a drive along Independence Pass or Glenwood Canyon, have the stunning Maroon Bells as your backdrop, or take a gondola ride! Aspen is a great place with endless adventure opportunities for your adventure wedding!
5. Steamboat Springs
Steamboat a town with more adventure! If you haven’t figured out it by now, most mountain towns in Colorado have plenty of adventure to choose from! 🙂 You’ll have lots of delicious restaurants and shops to check out during your stay, but the real important thing is that they have epic hiking, horseback rides, rafting, paddleboards, and so much more!
6. Crested Butte
Crested Butte is another quaint mountain town with lots of options for adventure and views for mountain top elopement! Going on that hike is going to be one of the best ways to enjoy the mountains!

8. Buena Vista
Buena Vista is home to Cottonwood Pass which features alpine lakes, gorgeous wildflowers during the summer season, all the pine trees, and of course, lots of hiking!
9. Keystone
Keystone is a great place for all the hiking trails, but it’s also home to Loveland Pass!
Loveland Pass
Loveland Pass is one of the only mountain pass roads that are open all year round! There are many trails off of the road that is perfect for a 2-person elopement. It’s definitely not an ideal location for a larger group with 10 people!
10. Grandby
Grandy is a small town that features year-round adventure! Whether you opt for a summer elopement to go hiking or jeeping, drive through a stunning mountain pass road, or if you want a winter elopement where you ski down the mountains Grandy will be a great place for your elopement wedding!
