5 Tips to Start Planning Your Wedding
Now that you are engaged you’re getting all the questions! When are you getting married?! Where are you getting married?! You just said yes yesterday and everyone expects you to know the answer to these questions already! You’ve dreamed of everything, but now it’s real that your boo got down on one knee. So, where do you start?
1. It’s all about that budget!
Whether you want to elope or have a traditional wedding budget will always come into play. Figure out what is most important to the both of you and that’s where you should spend the largest portion of your budget whether it be that dream dress, your favorite photographer or that stunning venue!
2. How many guests do you want?
Your budget strongly correlates to how many people you invite especially if you go the more traditional route, because food for 100+ people definitely isn’t cheap. If you are eloping then you need to decide if you want to have your closest family and friends there or if you just want it to be the two of you in that dream location.
3. Where do you want to get married?
While I was wedding planning I quickly realized that finding your venue should be the first thing you do, because after that everything will start to fall into place! For those who decide to elope figuring out where to you want to get married is also so important and such a fun part. One tip I love to give my elopement couples is if you decide to have a destination elopement consider a place you would love to explore for your honeymoon! It will definitely save you some money.
4. Hire your photographer!
Start your search for the perfect photographer for you! If you elope and have an idea of where you want to elope or even have no idea really your elopement photographer can help suggest some amazing places. This is an area where you will not regret spending money, because in the end all you will have is your memories and your photos.. and each other of course!
5. Pick out those outfits!
It’s time to start your search for your dress and suit! Finding your dress might take time so be sure to get on it so you have time for alterations as well. A lot of my couples who elope love to get dresses from Lulus, Reclamation, or Grace Loves Lace. Even if you aren’t eloping be sure to check them out! Their dresses are to die for!
So, there it is! I hope this helps you to start planning your big day and relieves a bit of stress!
Congratulations to the both of you!
