This Keystone Elopement in Colorado was such a beautiful and easy-going day! We started off Hannah and Matthew’s elopement day at their cabin that was tucked away in the trees and right along a river! The peacefulness that you felt there just listening to the water rushing and birds flying around was so amazing. Talk about a great way to start off your dream day!
Once they were done getting ready they had a first look in the forest right by their cabin. Hannah’s dress was absolutely stunning!! Once we wrapped up their first look we hopped in their jeep and drove up to their location for their ceremony and adventure.
We explored the forest and walked around the lake checking things out and enjoying the views. Then, once we found a spot that they liked we stopped and they had their self-solemnizing ceremony in the middle of the forest! Once their ceremony was complete we kept moving and found a nice little spot where they shared a first dance and let everything around them just disappear.
When the time came for us to head back we made our way to their jeep again and headed off to hit up a few different locations for sunset! They brought a special bottle of wine to share as they enjoyed the views.
After the sun had set we headed to a pub where they did beer tasting and got to relax in a different environment! It was an amazing Keystone Elopement in Colorado!! Congrats to these two!!
Why did you decide to elope?
We decided to elope after we had to push back our original wedding because of Covid. We are big travelers and wanted to do something special for ourselves because we have had a pretty rough year.
How did you two meet?
We both met at a distillery we were working at. We both were on the very first 3rd shift so we, as a team, pretty much had to learn everything on our own which brought our group together pretty close pretty quick. I friend-zoned him at first but he got offered another job on another shift so I never saw him anymore. I realized I started to miss him and we began hanging our from there.
How did the proposal go down?
We designed the engagement ring together so I knew it was coming I just didn’t know when. I told him I wanted to be together for a year before he proposed so he did it on our 1 year anniversary at Woodford Reserve. We were at the distillery and he had someone hide underneath the stills to take our pictures when he proposed. We also had a barrel with “she said yes” stamped on it which we were able to fill and sign. Once that barrel is done aging we will be able to keep it!
What was your favorite part of your elopement?
All of it really! The forest views were amazing so being able to say our vows there was wonderful! I also loved popping open that wine and enjoying the sunset. Every moment was so fun and relaxing!!
