North Cascades Elopement
There isn’t any doubt that anybody who has ever been to Mount Baker or the North Cascades knows just how gorgeous this area is! It’s the perfect location for a couple who loves the outdoors and wants to say their vows in the forest, on a mountain peak, or by a river. This Mount Baker Elopement with Maddy and Shane was such a friggin’ blast! We originally planned to start their adventure off at Artist Point, but when we got there the fog was SO heavy that you could hardly see your feet and the rain was pelting us so bad it hurt. So, plan B it was!
We decided to head down the mountain and stop along the way where we pleased and, to be honest, have the fun was just going with the flow and heading out where we wanted! Especially when you elope in the outdoors the weather can be unpredictable so I always prepare my couples for when things like this happen to go into their day with an open mindset. When you have an open mindset like that it helps the day to go smoothly no matter what happens and in this case, everything worked out even better than our original plan!
North Cascades Elopement Locations
If you’re thinking about eloping in the North Cascades because you want those PNW vibes and scenery, then choosing to have a North Cascades Elopement would be a brilliant choice! There are mountain views and alpine lakes galore for you to explore and say your vows. If you’re hoping for sunshine for your North Cascades Elopement then go for a summer elopement. If you want more of foggy and moody vibes that Washington offers then a spring elopement would be a great choice! Of course, you have to go in with the mindset that you will probably encounter rain.
Artist Point is one of the most popular viewpoints in the area and for a good reason. You’ll get stunning views of Mt. Baker as well as Mt. Shuksan! You also have Diablo Lake and Withdrop. However, there are many, many hiking trails that will offer you privacy and give you a true PNW elopement experience!

Adventurous Mount Baker Elopement
How did you two meet?
We met through rivalary High school friends! We went to rival schools, but knew each other through mutual friends. We had known each other since freshman year but we didn’t start dating till our senior year.
When did you realize that you two were meant to be? What made you want to marry each other?
We never had a single moment where we knew we were meant to be. It was all the little moments adding up; us learning about each other, spending time with each other everyday that gradually made us know we wanted to be together.
How did he propose? Were you surprised or did you expect it?
He proposed on our road trip in Wyoming. It was beautiful! There were mountains in the background with a herd elk at sunset. I had a hunch it would happen sometime on the trip, but it was a magical moment! I was actually so surprised that I at first said no, but then immediately said yes after that haha.
What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be who plan to elope?
Everything happens for a reason so if there are any negatives that happen on your wedding day try to look at the positives.
