Well, to say the least, Switzerland is an absolutely gorgeous country! During your road trip through Switzerland the mountains you’ll see are so incredible and jaw dropping. If it was this beautiful during winter I can only imagine how freaking beautiful it would be during summer and fall! We flew into Zurich, rented a car and headed to Interlaken. We stayed at Hotel Berghof which was outside of Interlaken and about 15 minutes from Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, which were the main towns we wanted to see. We had a pretty awesome view from our hotel room and the homemade breakfast there was super delicious!
After our two nights in Switzerland we road tripped up to Triberg, Germany and stayed there for one night. My mom had to see all the coo-coo clocks! The Triberg Waterfall was the highlight of this town. There are many hiking trails up in the mountains by the waterfall and bridges you can cross over the waterfall as well! After our night in Triberg, we headed out to see Hohenzollern Castle. This castle stands atop a hill in the middle of nowhere. In order to see the inside you have to do a guided tour which they do in German and English, but the English tours are only at certain times so be sure to check the specific times if you want to do the tour.
Once we were done exploring the Castle we were off to Strasbourg, France! Here we stayed at an AirBnb that was about a 10 minute walk to Petite France which is the main and most fun part of town, at least in my opinion. There are fun shops, cafes and restaurants all along the canals! While we were staying here we took a day trip up to Heidelberg, Germany and stopped at a WWII museum, MM Park, which was loaded with vehicles, planes, uniforms, guns, and even a boat. It is the biggest collection of WWII vehicles I believe and it was SUPER cool to see if you like that type of history.
I had been to Heidelberg, Germany before and have written a blog post about that before so you can check out 10 Things To Do in Heidelberg Germany for some travel tips there!
