June Lake holds a special place in my heart! Every summer growing up we typically would go to Yosemite or Sequoias until at some point we started going to June Lake every year or every other year. This was the first family vacation that all six of us have gone on; Mom, Dad, Ryan, Katrina (Ryan’s wife), Alex (my husband) and me. We did a LOT of fishing, hiking and just got to hang out and relax!

The two images above is the view we had from our cabin. This peak is named Carson Peak!
June Lake
The first morning we got up early (too early if you ask me) and went fishing on June Lake. I caught two fish while everyone else was unsuccessful and managed to get their lines stuck on rocks. June Lake is so pretty and I am pretty sure I could take a million pictures of this lake and not get sick of it!
Rush creek
Rush Creek is one of main rivers that starts on Waugh Lake to Gem Lake to Agnew Lake to Silver Lake and into Grant Lake. There are amazing spots for fishing and just to enjoy the scenery!
While my Dad was fishing he got a lure stuck on a rock and went into the river to try to retrieve it, but was unable to get it. It made for some funny pictures at least!
Walker Lake
Walker Lake is usually our favorite lake to go fishing because typically we catch a lot of big fish there! When we got there we heard that they had just stocked the lake with little fish so we ended fish with lures the whole time and almost every time that we would throw the line out we would reel one in which was pretty fun. They were pretty small so we would just catch and release, but at least we were catching something!
The other great part about the lake is that it is out of the way and is not an easy hike so we usually have the lake to ourselves which is pretty great! Once you reach the trail head it is a 1 mile hike straight down which is fine and dandy, but the way up isn’t too much fun because it is seriously straight up, but it’s always worth it!
gull Lake
We only spent a few hours here one evening before dinner and go to enjoy the pretty view! I even had a lizard pose for me.
Saddlebag lake
Saddlebag Lake has the most incredible hike I have ever done. As you can see by the pictures below the lake was still frozen and there was a TON of snow so we were unable to do the hike this time, but if you get the chance I suggest taking on this hike!
Tioga Lake
On our way back from Saddlebag Lake we stop here. It was a gorgeous lake and a fun stop to make!
In The Valley
On one of the turn offs on our way back from Tioga Lake we stopped down in the valley along this river was so pretty!
