Venice Couple’s Session

My sweet Venice, Italy! This city captured my heart many years ago when I took a trip around Europe and every time I get to go back I am always SO stoked! Jason and Nina’s Venice Couple’s Session was such a friggin blast. We met up around sunset and got to explore and walk around Venice as the sun was setting! These two got to celebrate their honeymoon in such a beautiful city and I was so stoked to be able to capture such amazing memories for them.

Venice Couple’s Session

How did you two meet?

We met when we were 15 years old at Jason’s uncles campground. My family and I were camping there the same time Jason was there.

When you did you realize that you two were meant to be? What made you want to marry each other?

We met at a time in our lives when we really needed it. My mom has passed away in 2007 and Jason’s dad passed away in 2008. We met in 2008 and it felt like our parents planned for us to meet. When it felt like no one understood our pain of losing a parent, we found each other that that’s when I knew.

How did he propose? Were you surprised or did you expect it?

Jason and I first met on the waterfall bridge at the campground when we were 15. He took me back to the bridge which was lined with petals and candles and proposed. My dad has just been out of the hospital and Jason and my sister said he was too sick to be there. We left the proposal and went to a restaurant and I was surprised by my dad and all my closest family and friends!

What drew you to have you honeymoon in Venice, Italy?!

Italy will always have a special place in our heart because that is where Jason’s dads family is and that is where Jason’s dad is buried. We knew we wanted to include Italy on our honeymoon somehow so that’s why we went to Venice and then cruised to Greece and Croatia.

Any fun story about you two or any additional information you would like to add?

Thinking back on all of the memories Jason and I shared, some of the best ones were made on our first trip to Italy where Jason’s family lives. The language barrier itself was tough enough (so I found myself conversing more with his Aunt’s dog than his family who only spoke Italian), but keeping up with their lifestyle was even harder. The time difference totally messed me up and each day I found myself sleeping more than I was awake, even during the world’s most beautiful drive down the Amalfi Coast. I quickly earned the nickname of “Nina Stanca” or tired Nina. Great impression right? So naturally when his cousin offered us coffee I was jumping for excitement for a nice caramel iced coffee, my staple drink back home. However I learned very fast that coffee meant espresso, and my soul just cannot handle espresso. Since I was already “Nina Stanca” I didn’t want to disappoint Jason’s family more each time we went to the coffee bar, so throughout the entire trip I would sneakily slide my espresso over to Jason, and the champion that he is he would drink both mine and his. The trip quickly turned into the most tiring trip of my life but the most energized one of Jason’s.
